MEET OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

40 Hours of 40K Foundation is led by volunteers who believe in the power of community to make a meaningful difference in men’s mental health and suicide prevention.

The people behind the mission.

JP LACASSE

Founder & Chair

JP Lacasse is a Canadian Armed Forces veteran, entrepreneur, and community advocate with 23 years of military service.

After his medical release in 2019, JP reconnected with Warhammer 40,000, a hobby he had enjoyed since his teenage years. What began as a therapeutic outlet became a source of purpose, friendship, and belonging.

Inspired by the original 40 Hours of 40K initiative in the United Kingdom, JP brought the concept to Edmonton in 2023. As Founder and Chair, he is committed to bringing the tabletop gaming community together to support men’s mental health and suicide prevention, with particular attention to veterans and first responders.

Lee Morry

Treasurer

Lee Morry brings more than 15 years of Canadian Armed Forces service to the Board of Directors, along with a personal understanding of the challenges faced by veterans and first responders.

Following a PTSD diagnosis in 2022, Lee began a recovery journey supported by medical professionals and a strong network of people around him. His experiences reinforced his belief in the importance of community, connection, and peer support.

As Treasurer, Lee helps oversee the Foundation’s financial stewardship while supporting its mission to connect and uplift those facing adversity. He is passionate about creating opportunities for people to share their experiences and support one another through difficult times, reinforcing the belief that no one fights alone and that we are stronger together.

Spencer Bosworth

Secretary

Spencer Bosworth brings a passion for community building, education, and the Warhammer hobby to the Foundation.

As a Grade 6 teacher, Spencer is committed to helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections. Living with Type 1 diabetes since childhood has also shaped his understanding of resilience and the importance of supportive environments.

After attending his first 40 Hours of 40K event in 2023, Spencer was inspired by the initiative’s ability to bring people together through gaming while supporting mental health causes.

As Secretary, he supports the Foundation’s governance and ongoing operations while helping expand its reach and impact, ensuring more people can find connection, support, and a sense of belonging through the power of community.
